57 injection over and done!...............

There is a country song called "hole in the floor of heaven" I immediately thought of that song when I saw this picture. "it made me smile".
We went to Mass and then a polish dinner with Mikes Mom and Dad. The food was great, but the company was even better! They are the best! I don't know how I am so blessed to have family like them!

Back to the treatment .. the dizziness is still a problem. Today the body aches and headaches were pretty bad.

So today I don't feel as dizzy as yesterday.

So far today has been bearable. I had a new side effect. I felt really dizzy today, almost like I have been drinking. But I can handle that.

54th injection over......

Thursday night was a horrible night. I didn't think I would make it through the night, fever, nausea and body aches were so bad. I could not get any sleep. Friday I was still very achy I called in sick to work and slept till around 3:30. I finally started feeling human around the time I needed to give myself another injection. OH NO here we go again. Saturday was not too bad. We went to church. Last night I woke up in such pain, the muscle and bone aches were so bad I thought I was going to start crying, and if you know me "I am not a cryer". So I am not sure if this new dosage is going to do this all the time, or if this is just my body getting used to the higher dose.

Hopefully I will be able to start to manage the side effects a little better.

I have not been posting as regularly as I have in the past. Everything is pretty much the same. The side effects are still plaguing my existence. Sometimes I think I am just wishing my life away waiting for my cancer treatment to get done. But on the positive side 2 more injections done and 2 closer to my completion.

50 and 51 over......

I did not post after 50 because I felt so awful. The extra dosage is pretty tough. I spent most of Saturday feeling bad too. I hope Monday and Tuesday will be better. The body aches are very difficult to cope with. And then there is the waves of nausea to deal with.

49th injection done.....whew

Upping my interferon by an extra 3 million units, sure has taken a toll on my well being, both physical and emotional. I was up all night sick to my stomach, and the waves of nausea have been with me all day. Then the headaches are another issue.
I hope I will become accustom to the side effects soon. I really dread my next injection. I am up to 18 million units 3 times a week now.

My friend Joyce pointed out that after my injection last night I am officially 1/3 of the way through my treatment.
I went to the cancer center yesterday. My flush and blood work went smoothly, the last few times we had problems aspirating me, so I was really happy with the results. Then we went to the see my Oncologist. My blood work was within the "normal" range. He is increasing the interferon dose to 18 million units (that's an increase of 3 million units). Hopefully that will not intensify the side effects too much.
