Well this is an extra post.
I went to my Urologist today. I kept telling myself to be assertive the whole time while I waited. We discussed the troubles I have with this inside me and how it is almost a painful thing all the time,if I do anything physical, It hurts and I pass blood. So I have had to stay pretty much immobile and how it has been getting progressively worse and I want this fixed permanently instead of a temporary fix. He will refer me to a specialist at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, but in the mean time we need to get the old stent out and replace it with a fresh one. He was worried how I would deal with the healing process with my cancer therapy and didn't feel qualified be able to tackle this problem.

#14 injection over

Counting down these infernal injections one at a time. So 14 is over, but I have to say the girl that gave me my flu shot was horrible. I think I should have asked her if I could do it myself. My arm is still sore where she jabbed me.

Today I have a appointment with my Urologist. He will want to schedule another surgery to remove and replace the stent. I have been psyching myself up to be assertive when I see him. I don't understand, if I can have the replacement surgery then why can't I have the surgery to have it fixed the permanent way? Hmmmm could it come down to $$$$ Sometimes I think so. So wish me luck today, I will have more info later.

#10 injection

Yesterday was eventful. I went to the cancer center once again, they inserted the tube into my port and tried to aspirate once again. No luck. We walked through the hospital down to radiology with my tube dangling out of my chest. (boy did I get alot of stares).
With all the dye they injected and putting my neck in different positions, they finally got it to aspirate. The tube that is fed into the carotid artery has moved up into my neck (just below my ear).
My blood reports were in line. So all is well.
Mondays, like always seem the worst and Tuesday day is pretty rough. So I am fighting off the side effects. Looking forward to feeling normal again.

#9 over

I am a little late on posting for my #9 injection.
As you know Friday I had an appointment at the Cancer Center for a port flush and blood work. This should have taken 10 minutes. Well not with me......If things can be difficult I always manage to do it that way. I was there over 2 hours and still didn't get the blood work done. The could not get my port to aspirate, They injected TCA to help waited 30 min and gave me a second dose. That did not work. So they were going to send me down to radiology for a dye test. But since it was so late on Friday afternoon, the radiologist had already left. So Monday I will go back up to the hospital and try everything again. And hopefully reschedule my oncologist appointment.
Saturday I had a pretty bad day. But today looks more promising.

#8 injection done

I am getting better at this injection thing. The only thing I dread is the awful side effects.
I am looking forward to tomorrow afternoon. I have an appointment at the cancer center for blood work and a port flush. I miss everyone there, so it will be a treat to get to see them. After my appointment at the cancer center I will rush over to an appointment with my oncologist.

#7 injection over..whew

Well Monday nights are turning out to be the worst. So after the side effects wear off the rest of the week should be better. I have been taking my anti-nausea meds and tylenol before I inject, then I drink 3 large glasses of water and that seems to help a little.
