#82 arghhh.........not getting better

OK I am supposed to be feeling better. The last time I had this surgery I was only down for a week. Last night I ran a high fever, 101. The discomfort is terrible. I can't really say it is pain, but it does keep me up at night and as soon as I doze off I get woken up from the horrible feeling that there is something living inside my bladder. OK I don't need to go on, you get the point. And then of course the are the regular flu like symptoms I deal with every day. Does some one want to trade places with me? for a day would be so nice not to feel sick or hurt.

I don't know how I am going to make it through a full day at work tomorrow. Hopefully I will have a "REAL" speedy recovery.

# 81 ... the hard way

I am still suffering from the recovery process from my surgery. I have been experiencing alot of pain, fatigue, dizziness and nausea. I think the interferon has intensified the pain and nausea. Hopefully I will start feeling better soon, I am not liking this!@#!

79th injection done

I feel under the weather today...
Last night was pretty rough. Just as soon as I feel like I am getting a handle on these side effects. They hit me with a vengeance. Last night was a rough night, the fevers and nausea was bad and the nagging headaches and body aches, were there to make it completely icky.
The only thing good about the 79th injection, is it is over. Heading for 80.
I wonder how my surgery will go since it is on a side effect day.

78th injection over

Welcome Spring!

The calender says Spring is here, but the temperatures don't reflect the date. I do have to say we have daffodils blooming in the front yard, so that is encouraging. I have to admit the pictures are from last year. But I know it is bound to warm up soon.

I have to laugh because in a few months we will be complaining that it is too hot.

I saw my Oncologist Friday after spending too much time at the Cancer Center and the hospital. I needed to get all my pre-op tests done. I should be getting used to all the waiting around, but I am not. It just amazes me how the medical profession schedule us for the most efficient use of time (for them) meanwhile we spend hours sitting in waiting rooms. Hey maybe that is why they call us patients. My blood work came back and I have a bit of anemia, no wonder I have been so tired.

77 injection over.....

Yesterday I got a call from the doctors office. They have my surgery scheduled for next Thursday, they really moved fast on getting me in for this. My Doctor said it was important we get this done ASAP, but I didn't realize it would be this soon.
Today was like every other side effect day, the nausea body aches..blah...blah....blah.
I know you have heard it before.

Tomorrow I have another appointment at the cancer center and then later an appointment with my Oncologist.

75th & 76th injection over.......

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

Thinking Green has a whole new meaning today.

I wish the side effects were better today. My friend invited me over for a traditional Corned Beef dinner. Mmmmm too bad the nausea is so strong today.

I went to the Urologist yesterday, we discussed the importance of keeping my kidney in as healthy condition as possible. The likely hood of my cancer returning at an older age is very probable, and if I loose a kidney, later down the road it will be very difficult to handle future treatments. So his office is going to suggest another specialist, this time in Philadelphia at Jefferson Hospital. In the mean time we have to remove and replace the stent. They are going to try to rush this surgery. I have had it in too long and it is past the scheduled time for removal.

74th injection done

I really feel the need to blog about compassion. I am humbled by those that have shown me compassion and concern through out my Cancer treatment. I cannot begin to express how you have impacted my outlook and the strength you have given me.

As we look forward to the celebration of Easter, I cannot help but think of the great compassion and unconditional love Jesus had for all of us.

Please let us all remember the great sacrifice that was made for us, and keep compassion and Christ type love in our hearts.

71st injection over.....

So today I am marking the 71st injection over... the side effects have been manageable. That is a big plus. I got a call from my specialist at Johns Hopkins, he is taking a position from a hospital in New York, so back to square one with my kidney issues. I need to find a new specialist that is qualified to do the needed surgery. I called my urologist and left him a message, hopefully he will call back soon. I do need to get the temporary stent replaced.

On a brighter note here are some pictures of our big snow we got on Monday. Ellie our dog was funny you would never guess she is 12 years old, she played like a puppy.
